At Tusk & Tailor Travel, we curate bespoke African journeys with exceptional care. Because our itineraries rely on boutique lodges, charter flights, and limited-availability experiences, strict cancellation policies apply. Please review the terms below carefully.
1. General Cancellation Terms
All cancellations must be submitted in writing to Tusk & Tailor Travel.
Cancellation fees are calculated based on the date we receive your written request.
2. Tusk & Tailor Service Fees
All Tusk & Tailor planning, consulting, and itinerary design fees are non-refundable under all circumstances.
3. Supplier / Lodge / Airline Cancellation Policies
Tusk & Tailor acts as an intermediary between you and the suppliers (lodges, hotels, airlines, tour operators, transfer companies, etc.).
All bookings are subject to the individual suppliers’ terms and conditions, which may differ from one another.
Common supplier guidelines (example only):
More than 90 days before travel: Deposit may be forfeited.
90–60 days before travel: 30–50% cancellation fee.
60–30 days before travel: 50–75% cancellation fee.
Less than 30 days before travel: 100% cancellation fee.
Exact penalties will depend on the supplier and will be clearly outlined at the time of booking.
4. Flights
Airline tickets follow the fare rules of the issuing airline:
Some fares are fully non-refundable.
Some allow cancellation with a penalty.
Changes may incur additional costs, including fare differences.
Tusk & Tailor administrative fees for flight booking changes or refunds are non-refundable.
5. No-Show Policy
No-shows are treated as full cancellations and are 100% non-refundable.
6. Travel Insurance
Tusk & Tailor strongly recommends comprehensive travel insurance that covers:
Trip cancellation and interruption
Medical evacuation
Baggage loss
Supplier default
Insurance is the traveler’s responsibility. Failure to secure insurance will not reduce cancellation penalties.

7. Changes to an Existing Booking
Any change requested after confirmation is subject to:
Supplier change fees
Fare differences (for flights)
A Tusk & Tailor administrative change fee
Changes are not guaranteed and depend on availability.
8. Group Travel Policies
For group bookings (6+ travelers), stricter cancellation terms often apply, including non-refundable deposits. These will be communicated at the time of confirmation.
9. Force Majeure
Tusk & Tailor is not liable for cancellations caused by unforeseen events including natural disasters, political instability, pandemics, or airline disruptions. Suppliers may offer credits instead of refunds under these circumstances.
10. Refunds
Refunds, when applicable, will only be processed after Tusk & Tailor receives funds back from the supplier.
Processing timelines vary by supplier and airline and may take 4–12 weeks.
LEGAL JURISDICTION
Governing Law-This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York, United States of America.
Jurisdiction- Any disputes arising under or in connection with this Agreement shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in New York County, New York
MALARIA
Please note that some areas in south africa, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Botswana are malaria areas. We strongly recommend you getting into malaria medication from your primary care doctor as a precaution for tour visit.
